Standing in the 300 block of S Saginaw St looking north towards the river. The movies showing at the Rialto are Raffles (first released 1939) and A Lady Takes a Chance (1943). It was renamed the Theatre Royal in the 1960s and later reverted to porn complete with topless female employees....it was demolished in 1977. The address was 308 S Saginaw. We can also see Blocks Jewelers, the Army Surplus at 312 (with Dora's Beauty Shop upstairs) and Bettys Dress Shop. To the right of the Rialto is Fred's Jewelers which was located on the corner of Union St. Looking at the slide mount this dates from somewhere between 1941 and 1949.
